Story[edit]

Final Fantasy Adventure/Adventures of Mana[edit]

In the past, a Mana Maiden joined forces with the Gemma Knights against the Vandole Empire who was trying to conquer the world. With the help of her pendant, she led the resistance to victory. She eventually fell in love with Bogard, one of the Gemma Knight, and conceived a daughter. To restore the torned land to its original shape, she assumed the form of an enormous holy tree atop Mt. Illusia, effectively restoring the flow of Mana.

In modern times, the now all grown-up descendant of the original Mana Maiden must flee her persectuted hometown from the Glaive Empire led by Dark Lord's evil grasp. As she is escorted by her friend Hasim in the Topple Plains, the duo is ambushed by Mushbooms. A traveling swordsman defeats the threat, but Hasim is mortally wounded, pleading the young man to bring Fuji to the elderly Bogard living near the waterfall beyond Topple.

There, the old woodcutter recognizes the heirloom pendant dangling from Fuji's neck to be the same as her late beloved, proving that the young lady is be a member of the Mana Clan. He entrusts the party to seek the help of Cibba the sage of Wendel. The lad and lady eventually reach the aformentioned city, where Cibba summons a vision of Fuji's mother with the help of a magic circle. The motherly spirit tells her daughter that they are both part of the line of Mana, seeds fallen from the Tree of Life, tasked with hr protection against the evils of the world. Vandole used the pendant to seal the Mana Tree atop Mt. Illusia to ensure that nobody would ever draw near. The figure pleads for her daughter to join forces with the Gemma Knight to thwart the Dark Lord's plan to take over the world.

The adventure culminates atop Mt. Illusia, where Julius, the former Dark Lord adviser and a descendent of Vandole, destroys the Mana Tree before perishing himself at the hands of our heroes. However, Fuji's mother appears, and reminds her that they are seeds. Should the Mana Tree ever be lost, a maiden of the Mana Clan can become a new Mana Tree to keep Mana alive in the world. Of course, Fuji must choose this for herself, and has the choice to return with Sumo and await the devastation that would come with the loss of Mana. Fuji makes the choice to become the new Tree, and Sumo agrees to protect her from evil. Before departing, Sumo agrees to carry a message from Fuji's mother to her beloved, Sir Bogard.

Secret of Mana[edit]

According to the game booklet, a tribe of wise men and women were tasked to sustain the balance of the Mana Tree. Should the light and dark side become in synch, the world is basked in peace & safety.

Both of Randi's parents were members of the Mana Tribe. His father served in the fight against the Empire as a knight of the Republic of Tasnica. He failed to assassinate the Emperor and died in the war moments before obtaining the sword. Her mother, a Mana maiden was tasked to become the Mana Tree after giving birth to Randi.

Sword of Mana[edit]

According to Cibba, members of the Mana Clan are said to be human reincarnations of divine creatures and spirits tasked to guard the Mana Tree. Male Mana Clan members are made into swordsmen, destined to protect the clan and the holy tree. Females are gifted with supernatural powers, such as communicating with nature and sensing Mana power through their skin. Notable members of the Mana Clan are Fuji's Mother, Bogard, Fuji, Willy, & Kaseem.

Long ago, a man named Vandole snuck into the sacred shrine and used the power of the Mana Tree to bring forth an age of Darkness. The world was shrouded in despair, but a group of resistance quickly came to be, thwarting the evildoer's plan for world domination by using the light stemming from the Mana Sword.

During Fuji's childhood, her hometown was raided by the Granz Empire under the rulership of the Dark Lord, whose ultimate goal was to erradicate heretics on the basis they were hoarding Mana for themselves. In reality, his Darkship had a personal vendetta against Mana Clan members as he saw his father leaving his ill mother alone, not using Mana power to cure her sicknesss. His other objective is to retrieve a mysterious pendant passed down between women of the clan from on generation to another. This heirloom is said to be the key to the Sanctuary of Mana housing immense powers. She fled with Bogard to a friend's house, but were eventually spotted by Heretic Hunters chasing them down. She now lives under the protection of Bogard in his remote cabin.

In modern times, a close aquaintance of Lord Granz named Count Lee was asked to keep women of the Mana clan safe from the hands of the Dark Lord. He made them sleep soundly inside coffins for an undefined amount of time deep inside Vinquette Hall as requested. This practice led to a neighboring village housing rumors of the count kidnapping girls to drink their blood.
