While exploring the Palace of Arts in Geo, the protagonist stumbles on a statue in the basement bearing a striking resemblance to Gilbert the centaur. Upon further investigation, a voice seems echoing from it, saying: ''"Monique, my true love... I came to a town you know not, fell in love with a woman, sang a song you know not. I have become a person you known not. A merchant with rabbit ears sold me to a woman of wealth, and here I am in a cold, dark storeroom. Sadness consumes me, but I cannot cry, for I am now made of stone. All I do now is reminisce about out childhood... We used to fight so much, but the time we shared was mostly joy and laughter. I wish to sing you a long song once again, Monique."'' Meanwhile, in the Ulkan Mines, a book of poems has been left in the Diggers's quarters. After reading it, the hero is scolded by Roger from reading his poems. The whole place suddenly rumbles, making Roger orders his Dudbears to find something that will stop the cave-ins. Upon speaking to the Diggers's chief again, he informs the traveler that horse statue they bought from Kristie seems to have reduced the cave-ins. He specificly tells him/her to not move the statue. Further down the mines, Gilbert's statue is found echoing those words: ''"Monique, I miss you. Your voice was a joy to hear... And Flameshe, you were so charming when I saw you at the harbor... Miss Kathinja, I won't hate you for turning me into stone... Madam Meimei... Elle...... Rachel...... Miss Yuka...... I love you all..."''. The protagonist decides to go to Lumina and talk to Monique. She heard about Gilbert turning into stone and stored in the Ulkan Mines, but says it's none of her business. She decides to go to Madora Beach to relax. The protagonist follows her all the way to Elle's birdcage, where the to discuss about Gilbert's predicament. Even though they think of him as weird, They agree to help him by asking the sorcerers at the Academy of Magic. Before they can go, Flameshe appears in front of them, teasing them about liking the centaur, but still helping by teaching them a spell that will lift any curse, as long as it's cast by the accursed's most beloved. Despite the spell's length making it hard to remember, the two sirens decide to try it out and head to the Ulkan Mines. In the abandoned room, Monique starts casting the spell with the aid of the protagonist. With the spell completed, a giant ball of light spurs from Gilbert's stony body, reverting him back to flesh and bone. Gilbert thanks Monique, who is glad to see him back.
