[[???Seed|??? Seeds]] in the HD remake are hard coded on pickup and cannot be changed when reloading. Two factors are recorded: party position and light vs dark. If a ??? would produce an Ash Bottle for Enchantress Charlotte as main character, it would also produce a Knight Tag for Knight Duran as main character in New Game Plus.

Class 1 is always considered light for purposes of determining which two Class 3 items can spawn. If a character is already in Class 4, then the Class 3 alignment is checked. For example, a Starlancer-Metorite Riesz counts as dark and will now grant Dragoon Bands and Gleipnirs.
