| After Daena chased after Irwin and went in the Faerie World, the protagonist hurries down to Ulkan Mines and come accross Pokiehl. The Wisdom starts winding up is musical box and start signing about the earth teaching us of the cosmos and of all its ancient memories. His song makes the whole environment shift to the past where a young Escad exploring the mines hears a noise nearby and notices the protagonist. He lad says he's looking for Irwin since not only has he got demon blood in him, but his whole demeanor appears demonic. He is worried that he will bring doom to this world and must be stopped before it's too late. Matilda apparently go tricked by Irwin and eloped from the temple to go to Ulkan Mines. Young Escad suddenly vanishes, leaving the hero to further investigate. Deeper inside the mines, a younger Irwin is seen escorting a young Matilda through the maze, leaving her winded and out of breath because of the surrounding noxious fumes emanating from the ground. The two apparitions disappear from thin air and the hero is forced to further continue its search for answers. He/she reunites with the duo as young Irwin declares the deepest underground cave a perfect place to rest. Matilda takes the opportunity to ask about why Escad hates him so much, as the only reason that holds might be because he is a demon. A giant rumble erupts between their conversation, making Matilta thing that might have been the entrance collapsing. She then adds that this adventure has been really fun at first since its the only time she's been out the temple on her own, but she's now frighted and cannot wait to return. Irwin tries to reasure her by saying that she's protected by her ancestors and that even if he dies, that she will be safe. Matilda isn't as optimistic and replies that she cannot become a priestess since they cannot be friends with demons. Irwin retorts that he isn't his friend since he only wants to eat her up like any demon. Taken aback, the young girl shouts that he's lying, but also adds that she wants to go to the Underworld. Irwin disagrees and asks her summon her Elemental Spirit to find a way out. Matilda doesn't want to go back but Irwin states that she has to live but offers to destroy this world if she hates it so much. He then steals the recently summoned Wisp and makes it its own. The young Escad rushes to her rescue but it's too late. A giant ball of light brings the protagonist back to present time, an older Escad to his side. The Liotte Knight asks him/her if he/she's on his side, fighting for justice, or on Daena's aiding demons. Should the hero chooses Daena's side, Escad will attack him/her and must be defeated.
