Choosing the '''Will''' growth type in ''[[Final Fantasy Adventure]]'' or selecting the '''Sage''' type through [[Training regimen]] will help filling the gauge quicker. Using [[Crystal (item)|crystals]] on Sumo completely fills the Will bar.

The gauge can be depleted or emptied by getting hit by enemy attacks or by using certain moves with currently equipped weapons. The bar will also stop when Sumo is using regular attacks or using items. The only way to fill the gauge up if to move or stand still.

The Will bar will also affect magic spell's power. Once the gauge is full, Sumo can unleash his magic at full power.
