Candy is once again purchasable in the majority of item shops in addition to being a common drop from weaker enemies. In the original 2D version, it restores '''100 HP''' and is bought for 10 lucre; but in the remake, it restores '''200 HP''' and can be bought for 20 lucre. It sells for 5 lucre in both versions.

In the 2D version, the sweet treat can be grown from the [[Magic Pot]] by planting an [[Item Seed]]. In the 3D version, candies can also sprout from the magic pot should the player use either an item seed, a [[Silver Item Seed|silver]], [[Gold Item Seed|gold]] or [[Rainbow Item Seed|rainbow item seed]].
