| Chobin Hoods are diminutive fox-like creatures dressed in green tunics and wearing orange cowls. Taking their name from the famed hero of medieval legend, Chobin Hoods are novice archers equipped with bows and quivers of arrows. As such, they are good distance attackers. Some species use poison-tipped arrows and magic darts to bombard and hinder their foes. | | Chobin Hoods are diminutive fox-like creatures dressed in green tunics and wearing orange cowls. | ===Physical Description=== | | ===Secret of Mana=== |
| Chobin Hoods can be viewed as a cross between a fox, a cat, and a rat in its design. Their fur is usually light brown and their snout length varies from game to game. In older installment, they have a rather rodent face complete with bucktooth and whiskers. Their head are covered with a reddish cowl with holes for the ears and they wear a green medieval tunic whose hem reaches the floor. In recent games, they have a white spot on the face and shorter snouts. Their outfit is more detailed, with the tunic being replaced with baggy overalls. They are often depicted wielding bows or whips, but are also capable or throwing darts in some games.

| | |
| ===Attributes===
| |
| Chobin Hoods are native to lush forests and mysterious castles. They also like to lurk in caves and temples of all sorts. In other words, they are really adaptable and can be found nearly everywhere.
| |
| | |
| While the woodland creatures are not known to be afiliated with any particular element in Secret of Mana, almost every subsequent installment will make them strong against Dryad and/or Sylphid. They are sometimes weak against Luna or Aura.
| |
| | |
| === Variants ===
| |
| There are two main Chobin Hood variants.
| |
| | |
| *Quilted Hoods, also known as Robin Foots in Secret of Mana, are stronger counterparts garbed in green. They are often skilled in magic and either enchant their arrow with elemental magic or put their target to sleep.
| |
| | |
| *Chobin Hoodlums are even stronger versions of the Chobin Hood and are dressed in purple and maroon. In Trials of Mana they have a wide array of Dryad magic spells and can cast almost non-stop to hinder their opponent.
| |
| | |
| *Dark Chobin Hoods only appear in Sword of Mana and only spawn after defeating 1,000 regular Chobin Hoods.
| |
| | |
| * The Poron Seeker and the Porobin Hero are wind-type Magic Pets exclusive to Rise of Mana.

| Chobin Hoods are rather aggressive enemies in Secret of Mana. They are first encountered in the Haunted Forest and will often pelt unsuspecting travelers with multiple arrows by ganging up on them. Their agility is also something to be weary about, and it is suggested that players level up before going to far into the woods.

|
| The player is also given the Chobin's Bow as a reward for taking down Tropicallo in Dwarf Village.

| |
| Chobin Hoods return in Trials of Mana where they guard the Golden Road. They wound the party by either cracking their whip or by hurling a dart at them. They are not too difficult to take down individually, but they rarely show up alone, making them harder to handle. Their dart attack can be really annoying when trying to avoid battles.
