The '''Goblin''', also called '''Kid Goblin''', is a recurring enemy in the ''[[Mana (series)|Mana]]'' series. Debuting in ''[[Final Fantasy Adventure]]'', they have appeared in most installments ever since. As their name would suggest, they are typically depicted as stout, impish creatures. They differ however from typical goblin depictions in fantasy word as they are fully clothed from head to toe and favor a variety of bladed weapons.

Goblins are some of the rare monsters of the ''Mana'' franchise to be depicted as being capable of forming societies to the point of having a distinct culture in some installments. Their stronger variants suggest them forming some form of hierarchy.

==General Information==
===Physical Description===
Goblins are generally of short stature and seen sporting purple baggy overalls and a leather armor. Their head are always hidden behind a yellow medieval executioner hood, with only two fangs protuding from it. They also wear matching green gloves and shoes. In most games, they are seen wielding a tomahawk, but they can also throw knives or boomerangs in some of them.

Goblins are typically seen in underground settings such as caves and mines, but can sometimes be found frolicking in open fields.

[[Gnome]] is typically the elemental affinity for the subterranean creature, meaning that it ends up being weak to [[Jinn]]. In some games, however, the pattern is reversed and the magic to use against them is earth instead.

The Goblin has a few stronger variants seen in multiple games.

*The [[Hobgoblin]] is a reddish-purple variant of the base monster and is found in ''Secret of Mana'', ''Trials of Mana'', ''Dawn of Mana'', ''Rise of Mana'', and ''Echoes of Mana''. It it usually a more magic-inclined iteration who cast offensive & debilitating spells.

*The [[Goblin Guard]] is a blue variation that appears in ''Secret of Mana'', ''Sword of Mana'', ''Children of Mana'', ''Rise of Mana'', and ''Echoes of Mana''. They are usually physical fighters that is strong against Jinn magic and weak against Gnome spells.

*The [[Gobfiend]] is a dark red palette swap of the Goblin found in ''Trials of Mana'' and ''Echoes of Mana''. In the first game, they summon beast-type enemies and cast stat-decreasing moves to the party. They are typically the strongest variant found in the franchise.

*The [[Goblin (Sword of Mana)|Dark Goblin]] is a stronger variant of the Goblin in ''Sword of Mana''. Like any other dark enemies, it unlocked after defeating 1,000 Goblins.

*The [[Grim Goblin]] is a corrupted version of Goblins found in ''Dawn of Mana''. Like any normal grim enemies, they appear after [[Ritzia]] opens the [[Door to Mavolia]], effectively tainting the world woth [[Echoes of Mavolia|Echoes]].
