| Earlier depictions of the Fierce Face had them as a blue head of a demon floating above ground with a horn on its forehead. Some remakes of said games removed the horn and have them earrings instead. Starting ''Legend of Mana'', the Fierce Face was surrounded by ghostly fire and an extra horn was added. They attack by casting powerful fire or dark magic depending on the installment, as well as firing laser beams and biting their enemies.

| Fierce Faces prefer to live in dark or desertic environments like hot deserts, caverns, etc. Being demonic creatures, they also enjoy lurking in forsaken temples, eerie ruins, or other evil-infested areas.
