Wendel, also called the Holy city of Wendel, is a city in Final Fantasy Adventure and its direct remake Adventures of Mana. Located south of Kett Manor amidst dense forest, Wendel hosts a great cathedral overseen by the sage Cibba.
Story[edit]
After rescuing Fuji from the nefarious Vampire, Sumo is at last able to escort the girl to Wendel. There, they visit the great cathedral and meet Cibba, who recognizes Fuji's pendant and guides her to a magic sigil. As she stands on the sigil, a vision of a woman claiming to be Fuji's mother appears before the group. Both men are stunned. Cibba identifies the woman as the Lady of the Van who helped him and his companions bring down the Vandole Empire long ago. Fuji's mother then assigns her daughter the task of assisting the Gemma Knights of the present in thwarting Glaive's efforts to acquire mana. The vision fades thereafter.
As the duo prepares to leave, Wendel is attacked by Glaive's airship. The mysterious traveler appears to whisk Fuji away to safety, which turns out to be a ruse when the red mage reveals himself as Julius and abducts her. Sumo attempts to break through Julius, but is easily overpowered by the latter's magic.
Though shocked by the sudden turn of events, Cibba tells an equally stunned Sumo that Julius may have headed west to resupply the airship. Once again, Sumo sets off to rescue Fuji.

Trivia[edit]
- The Magic Circle was a hexagram (Star of David) in the original Japanese version. It was changed to an octagram for the North American and European versions.
- The player can kill the NPCs found within the town, but they have lot of HP and do not yield any experience points or GP. Since NPCs can be hit, this can be used to "push" them out of the player's way and allow Sumo to pass through if they are blocking the way.
