Term Description
Sword The sword is the most basic weapon. You can tap the attack button repeatedly to execute combo attacks. The sword can also destroy minor obstacles such as small pots and tufts of grass. You can sometimes find neat items by destroying obstacles, as you might want to look around for some. But some things can get you into trouble if you break them. Swinging your sword aroud aimlessly is not a good idea unless you want to get hurt!
Flail The flail has a wider range of attack than the sword. It's useful when you want to slay multiple enemies at once. You can also use the flail to obtain items that are out of your reach. You can even use it to leap over spiked floors. It's quite the useful weapon!
Bow The bow is useful when you want to hit an enemy deep inside an area obstructed by pots or plants. Arrows can't fly over tall obstacles, but they will fly over short ones, straight to your target. You can pluck to bow to play music. It will charm enemies and stop them in their tracks.
Hammer A strike of the hammer sends your enemies skidding away. You can also slam the ground to activate switches as well as send shock waves to knock your enemies off the ground. The hammer packs such a wallop that it can probably take care of most large obstacles.
Fury
What is Fury? You see the ten crystals at the bottom right of the screen? These crystals will start glowing blue as they charge up with every blow you give and receive. When all ten are glowing blue, press SELECT to unleash Fury. Fury boosts attack speed and allows you to use special attacks. But the energy in the crystal diminishes over time. Once it's gone, you return to normal.
Special Attacks While in Fury, you can hold the attack button to perform special attacks. The method and range of the special attack will differ with each weapon. You can increase the level by three through the use of gems.
Fury Reels Fury Reels is a gem that, when placed in the gem frame, adds a slot machine feature to the Fury gauge. As soon as all ten crystals are glowing, the gauge turns into a slot machine. The reels stop when Fury is unleashed. You can get bonus effects in battle, depending on what images line up on the reels.
Bonus Effects There are a total of six bonus effects. Three gumdrops will fully recover your HP. Three swords will make you go berserk. Every blow you deliver will be a critical hit. Three pieces of armor will shield you with the Aegis, making you invincible. Three lucre will make your foes drop money with every blow. And two matching images of any kind will restore some HP. But if no images match, you won't receive any bonus effect. And if you get three skulls, the energy in the crystals will drop severely. So be careful!

Term Description
Small Objects You may see small objects and plants that obstruct your path. But objects can be broken, and plant can be sheared off. You may find items inside objects or underneath plants, so feel free to hack away! But different-colored objects are traps, so watch out for them.
Large Objects Swords or flails can't destroy really large obstacles, but you might be able to break them if you give them the kind of impact that sends something skidding across the floor. If you have to break them on your own, you'll have to get your hands on a large weapon that can deliver a high-impact blow.
Mobile Objects Some obstacles can be moved by striking them. You can knock an obstacle into the air to hit your enemies and deal damage by its impact. The movable obstacles will eventually break after several hits. And when they do break, some can have healing powers, while others can trap you, so you should learn how to tell them apart.
Traps Dangerous objects like thorny vines and poisonous mushrooms can hurt you if you hack at them. But that means they hurt your enemies, too. If dangerous objects are in your way, take advantage of your enemies. You can keep yourself from getting hurt, and you also just might clear the path!
Special Objects Some obstacle can be hard to deal with if you're on your own. Things can get easier if you get other people in your people and collaborate.
Cheats Chests are ranked, and better chests contain better items. There are three types of chests in the dungeons. The bronze-trimmed chests in the dungeons. The bronze-rimmed chests are lowest in rank; silver- and gold-rimmed chests are ranked higher.
Mimics Some monsters are disguised as chests and wait for you before attacking. They're known as mimics. They are chests that have been turned into monsters, but there is apparently a way to turn them back into chests. I don't know the details, but it might have something to do with how you attack them.
