Uses[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Debris from the remnants of Biela's Comet falls toward Earth as the Andromedid meteor shower every October to November. German astronomer Wilhelm von Biela calculated the comet to be periodic, orbiting the Sun about every 6.6 years. Biela's Comet broke apart in the 1800s, but its remnants still bring meteor showers.
