Ask, also known as Chat, is a unique menu command in Final Fantasy Adventure and Adventures of Mana. Accessible at any time from the Main Menu^FFA or play screen^AoM, this function allows the player to request assistance from their partner if it is needed.

Usage

Sumo may use Ask when he is with or near one of his partners in the field. The actions taken vary according to his partner, status, and location in the greater world:

• Fuji: Recover HP for 15 seconds with Cure. Fuji's version has a regenerative effect that can slow Poison.
• Mysterious Traveler: Offers gameplay tips.
• Watts: Opens a sundries shop.
• Bogard: Gives lessons on MAX Attacks.
• Chocobo: Mount/dismount; else if Sumo is moogled, dispels moogled status.
• Amanda: Dispels petrification
• Lester: Change the BGM while in the Old Mansion.
• Marcy: Recover MP.
