A Metaball inside Batmo Cave
“There are 3 types of metaballs: slash, bash, and jab. Each metaball inflicts damage based on its type. A metaball's type can be determined by its attack method.”

Metaballs are traps and interactable objects in Sword of Mana.

Metaballs are round, metallic spheres that obstruct the hero's path in caves and dungeons and need to be destroyed in order to enable progression. They can deal damage to the player character should they come too close and a impervious to all magical and most physical attack, but melt away once they are striken with the correct weapon. Metaballs come in three different types.

  • Slash Metaballs will sprout curvy blades and spin on itself to attack the main character. They a defeated by using either the sword, the sickle, or the axe.
  • Bash Metaballs will create four legs and violently push the hero away when interacted. A strike with the staff, knucks, or the morning star will break it apart.
  • Jab Metaballs use spikes to prick unsuspecting travelers. They vanish once they are attacked with a bow, a flail, or a lance.
