Stats in Adventures of Mana

HP

HP or Hit points determine how much damage Sumo can take and how close he is to death. Once the counter hits "0" he is unable to battle and the player is sent to the Game Over screen.

Players can influence HP growth by raising the StaminaFFA/VITAoM stat.

Here are ways to replenish HP:

  • Staying at an Inn
  • Consuming a Candy
  • Consuming a Potion
  • Consuming a Hi-Potion
  • Consuming an Elixir
  • Interacting with a recovery spring.
  • Using Sumo's Cure spell.
  • Asking Fuji to restore them (only in certain areas/dungeons).

MP

MP or Magic points determine how many times Sumo can use magic spells. Once the counter hits "0" he is unable to use magic until replenished.

Players can influence MP growth by raising the WisdomFFA/INTAoM stat.

Here are ways to replenish MP:

AP/ATK

APFFA/ATKAoM is the raw physical damage Sumo can inflict on enemies. It is calculated by combining the PowerFFA/STRAoM stat with his currently equipped weapon's attack power.

For example, the Broadsword's attack power of 4 with a PowerFFA/STRAoM stat of 2 will deal a potential 6 damage (ignoring enemy defense).

DP/DEF

DPFFA/DEFAoM is the raw defensive potential Sumo can use to withstand enemy attack. It is calculated by combining the StaminaFFA/VITAoM stat with his currently equipped helmet & armor defense power.

For example, the Bronze Helm & Bronze Armor combined defense power of 5 with a StaminaFFA/VITAoM stat of 2 will grant Sumo a defense power of 7, lowering a monster's attack power of that equal amount. Therefore, a Rabite having an attack power of 8 will only deal 2 damage to Sumo.

Stamina/VIT

StaminaFFA/VITAoM influences the HP growth & defense power of Sumo. This stat growth is determined by the type of Growth typeFFA/Training regimenAoM chosen by the player after each level up.

Will bar

The Will Bar, also known as the Attack gauge, is a gauge located at the bottom of the screen that gradually fills up over time. Once full, Sumo can perform a MAX Attack. Choosing the Will growth type in Final Fantasy Adventure or selecting the Sage type through Training regimen will help filling the gauge quicker. Using crystals on Sumo completely fills the Will bar.

Below is the approximate time the bar fills up per level.

Level Time (in seconds)
1 30 s
10 15 s
20 8 s
25 6,25 s
30 5,1 s
40 4,0 s
50 3,2 s

The Will bar will also affect magic spell's power. Once the gauge is full, Sumo can unleash his magic at full power.
