The Grim Mortifer is a character and boss in Dawn of Mana.
A variation on the recurring Fullmetal Hugger seen throughout the greater series, the giant arthropod is the first of many beings corrupted by the Echoes of Mavolia after Keldric, Faye, and Ritzia make contact. Keldy must then fight it off to stop a rampage.
Defeating it completes Chapter 1 of the story.
