Luna is one of the eight Mana Spirits in the Mana series. Representing the element of the moon, Luna, like the other Spirits, made her debut in Secret of Mana. Named for Earth's moon and a trickster by her very nature, the sprite-like spirit enrobed in a lunar blossom holds a mysterious crystal to her chest. Her powers are largely esoteric compared to her fellow Spirits, drawing upon lunar energy to manipulate the flow of battle as well as to transmute foes and siphon life force. Ever the dreamer among the group, Luna is easily lost in thought and drawn to the eccentricities of any given world, but is nonetheless able and willing to serve those who befriend her.

In Legend of Mana, Luna is replaced by Aura, who shares the former Spirit's personality and quirks even as the latter Spirit is of a different element.

History[edit]

Secret of Mana[edit]

Luna is one of the three Spirits acquired on Jehk's errand, obtained from the Moon Palace on the western fringe of the Kakkara continent. The party must land Flammie in an area near the crater that appears on the world map. The correct location will have luminescent stars in the sand. Heading north, the heroes will meet a friendly Robin Foot named Karon, who will then ferry them to the entrance. Once there, the party must make its way to a room full of stars. Find a U-shaped pattern of torch lights among the stars, head left to find a Crystal Orb, and have Primm call Lumina to fire her Lucent Beam at it. Luna joins immediately upon reaching the chamber where the Mana Seed of Moon rests,

Luna grants the use of Moon Saber, Moon Energy, and Lunar Boost to Primm; and to Popoi, she provides Change Form, Lunar Magic, and Magic Absorb.

Trials of Mana[edit]

Dawn of Mana[edit]

Visions of Mana[edit]

Luna is the second spirit met by the heroes, returning to reassure the vagabond Morley that although his parish of Etaern and its people are lost in time, there is still hope for him and for the world at large, Out of his own remorse for the mishap that destroyed Etaern, Morley buried the Luna Globe in the snows of the Lefeya Drifts. The Globe has the power to bend time, slowing enemy movement in battle and reversing time where its flow is unstable in the field. It further allows a party member to change to their Moon class when equipped.
