Secret of Mana is the second installment of the Mana series. It was both developed and published by Square. Secret of Mana was originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, and would later be ported to the Wii's Virtual Console in 2008 and to the Wii U's Virtual Console in 2013, the latter of which only occurred in Japan. In 2009, Secret of Mana was released for FOMA 903i mobile phones and for EZweb in 2010. In late 2010, the game was also released for iOS devices. In 2018, a 3D remake of the game was released.
Secret of Mana was when the Mana series disconnected from the Final Fantasy franchise, as only the first Mana title, Final Fantasy Adventure, was marketed as being a part of it.
