The class-change item for Angela to access class 4, the Sage Sphere is exclusive to the HD remake and can be obtained by defeating Shadow Angela in the Labyrinth of Ice after talking to Grand Croix post-game. The key item must be in the party's possession to activate the Mystic Queen or Spellbinder class selection in Class 4.
It has no outside effect like any other Class 4 items.

Appearance[edit]
The Sage Sphere takes the shape of a glowing purple orb encased in an octahedron. The color of the sphere is reminiscent of Angela's hair, while the crystal enclosure mirrors her earrings.
