The Gear Seed is a consumable item exclusive to the 2D version of Trials of Mana.

The HD remake does not include seeds to grow specific types of items, instead using a ranking system to determine which items can be grown. Under this system, the rarity of the seed combined with both the Magic Pot level and a bonus for finding Li'l Cactus 45 times will improve the odds of finding seeds and growing more valuable items. At maximum, a Silver Item Seed or higher in the remake fills the same role as a Gear Seed in the original game.
