Background[edit]
Meria is an old friend of Gemma and commands the Republic's Sandship. He currently travels with his son Morie aboard the vessel in Kakkara Desert. According to a Tasnican citizen, he was Jema’s successor as the leader of the kingdom’s knights. Despite this, it seems his morale is lacking.
History[edit]
Secret of Mana[edit]
Randi and crew first meet Meria during Primm's rescue from his grandson Morie in the Sandship's captain's quarters. He scolds the Commander for his rudeness but attempts to frame the party as escapees. In the meantime, the Empire is invading the vessel, making Morie panics as he urges his grandfather to surrender. The Admiral calls him an idiot and order his crew to their battle stations, much to the dismay of the sentry who would vastly prefer to side with Morie. Turns out Geshtar is piloting the raid and Randi, Popoi, and Primm are forced to battle with him.
After vanquishing the Mech Rider the Sandship is presumed destroyed in the process. Meria declares to be indebted to the party and officially apologizes for his grandson's actions upon discovering they know Gemma. He also adds that he had almost forgotten how true soldiers are meant to behave.
Far later in the game, Admiral Meria joins in the Tasnican forces to battle agains the Empire on the Sunken Continent while the heroes attempt to stop Thanatos from activating the Mana Fortress. According to Sergo, the surviving soldiers escaped on the Admiral's ship.
