Ask Seamoon is a knowledge service offered by Seamoon in Children of Mana. By interacting with her at the Silver Mermaid, the player can learn about game mechanics.

Term Description
Sword The sword is the most basic weapon. You can tap the attack button repeatedly to execute combo attacks. The sword can also destroy minor obstacles such as small pots and tufts of grass. You can sometimes find neat items by destroying obstacles, as you might want to look around for some. But some things can get you into trouble if you break them. Swinging your sword aroud aimlessly is not a good idea unless you want to get hurt!
Flail The flail has a wider range of attack than the sword. It's useful when you want to slay multiple enemies at once. You can also use the flail to obtain items that are out of your reach. You can even use it to leap over spiked floors. It's quite the useful weapon!
Bow To be added
Hammer To be added
Fury
What is Fury? You see the ten crystals at the bottom right of the screen? These crystals will start glowing blue as they charge up with every blow you give and receive. When all ten are glowing blue, press SELECT to unleash Fury. Fury boosts attack speed and allows you to use special attacks. But the energy in the crystal diminishes over time. Once it's gone, you return to normal.
Special Attacks While in Fury, you can hold the attack button to perform special attacks. The method and range of the special attack will differ with each weapon. You can increase the level by three through the use of gems.
Term Description
About Magic Use your MP to call your companion spirit and take advantage of its powers. All spirits have area attacks as well as various types of support.
Using Magic Hold down the B Button and release to summon your spirit. If you touch the spirit, it will provide support magic for you and nearby allies. If you leave the spriit alone, it will unleash an area attack on surrounding enemies. Press B Button after summoning the spirits to shoot the spirit towards a target.
Attack
Attack Magic Attack magic is offensive magic used by the spirits. The damage it can do depends on the player's INT. It can be increased by three levels; a higher level means a wider range of attack. Magic levels can be increased through the use of gems.
Explode Explode is Salamander's attack magic. A single attack deals great damage to enemies by causing an explosion around him. The effect can sometimes set enemies on fire!
Ice Crush Ice Crush is Undine's attack magic. A single attack deals great damage to enemies by shooting ice in a perpendicular cross. The effect can sometimes turn enemies into snowmen!
Earth Spikes Earth Spikes is Gnome's attack magic. A single attack deals great damage to enemies by shooting stony spikes in diagonal cross. The effect can sometimes disarm your opponents!
Cyclone Cyclone is Jinn's attack magic. A counterclockwise whirlwind will deliver multiple hits on enemies around him. The effect can sometimes paralyze enemies!
Thorny Tendrils Thorny Tenrils is Dryad's attack magic. Spiky vines strech out in a perpendicular cross to deliver multiple hits. The effect can sometimes make enemies fall asleep!
Moonbeams Moonbeams is Luna's attack magic. A single attack deals great damage to enemies by shining bright light in a diagonal cross. The effect can sometimes confuse enemies!
Holy Orb Holy Orb is Wisp's attack magic. A ball of light spins around clockwise to deliver multiple hits. The effect can sometimes knock enemies unconscious!
Dark Vortex Dark Vortex is Shade's attacks magic. A dark explosion delivers multiple hits to enemies around him. The effect can sometimes cause enemeis to go temporarily blind!
Support
Support Magic Support magic is magic used by spirits to help you in battle. Some add elemental powers to your weapons. Others can recover your HP. And some can protect you preventing status aliments or turning you invisible. It can be increased by three levels; a higher level means a longer duration of effect. Magic levels can be increased through the use of gems.
Flamestrike When you imbue a weapon with Salamander's Flamestrike, your hits can occasionally set your opponent on fire. All of your allies in the vicinity will receive the same effect. But this won't work on boss enemies, so be careful!
Frostrike When you imbue a weapon with Undine's Froststrike, your hits can occasionally turn your opponent into a snowman. All of your allies in the vicinity will receive the same effect. But this won't work on boss enemies, so be careful!
Stonestrike When you imbue a weapon with Gnome's Stonestrike, your hits can occasionally disarm your opponents. All of your allies in the vicinity will receive the same effect. But this won't work on boss enemies, so be careful!
Lightningstrike When you imbue a weapon with Jinn's Lightningstrike, your hits can occasionally paralyze your opponents. All of your allies in the vicinity will receive the same effect. But this won't work on boss enemies, so be careful!
Nature Aura Dryad can nullify status aliments with Nature's Aura. The magic can also protect you from additional status aliments for a while. All of your allies in the vicinity will receive the same effect.
Lunar Radiance Luna's Lunar Radiance gradually restores your HP. All of your allies in the vicinity will receive the same effect. It recovers only a little at a time, but you get more overall than Wisp's Healing Light.
Healing Light Wisp's Healing Light gives a big boost in your HP. And unlike gumdrops or chocochomps, all of your allies in the vicinity will receive the same effect.
Invisibility Shade's Invisibility can make you invisible for the duration of the effect. All of your allies in the vicinity will receive the same effect. It's useful if you want to proceed without getting hurt.
Term Description
Small Objects You may see small objects and plants that obstruct your path. But objects can be broken, and plant can be sheared off. You may find items inside objects or underneath plants, so feel free to hack away! But different-colored objects are traps, so watch out for them.
Large Objects Swords or flails can't destroy really large obstacles, but you might be able to break them if you give them the kind of impact that sends something skidding across the floor. If you have to break them on your own, you'll have to get your hands on a large weapon that can deliver a high-impact blow.
Mobile Objects Some obstacles can be moved by striking them. You can knock an obstacle into the air to hit your enemies and deal damage by its impact. The movable obstacles will eventually break after several hits. And when they do break, some can have healing powers, while others can trap you, so you should learn how to tell them apart.
Traps Dangerous objects like thorny vines and poisonous mushrooms can hurt you if you hack at them. But that means they hurt your enemies, too. If dangerous objects are in your way, take advantage of your enemies. You can keep yourself from getting hurt, and you also just might clear the path!
Special Objects Some obstacle can be hard to deal with if you're on your own. Things can get easier if you get other people in your people and collaborate.
Cheats Chests are ranked, and better chests contain better items. There are three types of chests in the dungeons. The bronze-trimmed chests in the dungeons. The bronze-rimmed chests are lowest in rank; silver- and gold-rimmed chests are ranked higher.
Mimics Some monsters are disguised as chests and wait for you before attacking. They're known as mimics. They are chests that have been turned into monsters, but there is apparently a way to turn them back into chests. I don't know the details, but it might have something to do with how you attack them.
