Like other flying enemies, the blat can be hard to hit with melee attacks. Their movement pattern is somewhat erratic, since they hover back and forth toward the player. They can attack by dashing through their target, or cast an immobilizing spell to better corner them.
In Secret of Mana HD blats seem to be more cautious and tend to run away from player characters who are dashing toward them.
