“Rachel went to the witch of reincarnation and was turned into a blue jiggly. I wonder what kind of life the green wiggly was having, but am I the only one thinking about this?”

Rachel is a quest in Legend of Mana.

Premise[edit]

Note: This event requires a series of conversations with Mark and Jennifer. Every other day of the week Mark or Jennifer are working the item shop. You can not have the required conversation with them if they are working at the item shop. So, you must leave and re-enter Domina many times to complete this event.

Mark is invigorated by the mountains and invite her daughter to go hiking with him. Rachel replies by suggesting going with Jennifer, her mom, rather than her, as she would watch the shop instead, which makes his father laugh. Meanwhile, Jennifer confides in the protagonist that her husband is overbearing towards her daughter, and that she told him to cut it out, but he doesn't listen. Later on, the hero returns to Mark's house, only to find out that Rachel has disappeared, which have left her father worried. Teapo tells him/her downstairs that Rachel is sick of her father's crazy dreams and wonders if she went to the Academy of Magic in Geo. One particular day while the hero is visiting the Academy, he/she watches as a Student creates a great bolt of energy from a potion. During that time, Rachel came back to her dad, the latter telling her that he can trade their old Teapo for a newer Model 2 if she's that interested in magic. Rachel answers back saying that since she's just a Model 1, there are a few personality defects, but is fine with having her since that model was well recieved in Geo. On the other side of town, Jennifer admits to the protagonist that even though her daughter came back, her husband is still acting strange, claiming that their Rachel is a fake. He also says that whenever he closes his eyes, a strange blue jelly talks to him. The poor lady is at her wits' end and doesn't know how she ended up with a man like that.

Returning back to Mark's house, the father is now questioning his daughter about her true identity. The daughter replies that she'll be Rachel as long as he calls her by that name. Mark is this no convinced by this remark so he tries to tell her the story of the blue jiggly comin in his dreams telling him that it is called Rachel. Mark asks it back how the heck is Rachel in his house then, to which the jiggly anwsers that its a green wiggly. The father swears that he has that same dream every single night. The daughter replies that it might be a telepatic message from Rachel, continuing by saying she appears as a blue jiggly whenever she uses her telepathy. Rachel then admits that she's the green wiggly and that she traded bodies at the Academy of Magic. The father exclaims in shock that he knew her real identiy, but Rachel calls him an idiot for not knowing who his real daughter is. Teapo suddenly enters the scene, spilling the beans that Rachel bought some gunpowder with the brass she earned at her job. She made the poor teapot into a bomb to blow the house to bits, his father included. The young girl is completing the final research at the Academy as they speak. Utterly shocked at this revelation, Jennifer notices a star map with three-dimensional coordinate indicators and a zero-gravity control unit procedure near Teapo. The mother concludes that this looks more like a space rocket than a bomb. The now-revealed impostor adds that Rachel wanted to go to outer space and become a star. This reminds Jennifer of the plans his husband and daughter made when she was little to build the same type of rocket to go play in the outer space. Out of nowhere, a voice echoes from Mark's mind, saying that she's Rachel and that she has always been at his side, despite him never noticing him. All he could see what the daughter he's imagined, but now that they are far apart, they can finally communicate. Rachel is no more and was replaced by the blue jiggly. The voice fades back as she says she's be visiting them again once they are ready to be with the real Rachel.

Solution[edit]

Enter Domina. Go to Mark’s place (lower left door in center of town; they are on the very top floor) talk to Mark and Rachel (if Mark is not in the same room as Rachel, exit out to the World Map and re-enter Domina immediately. Then go back up stairs and he should be there.). Exit out to the World Map and enter Domina again. Go talk to Jennifer in the Marketplace (she should be near the fortune teller lady). Exit out to the World Map and enter Domina again. Go back and talk to Mark to find that Rachel left. Talk to Teapo and she’ll tell you she went to the Academy of Magic in Geo.

Enter Geo and go to the academy library on Salamander Day (sleep at the café to change days). See the flash of light.

Enter Domina and go back to talk to Rachel and Mark. Exit out to the World Map and enter Domina again. Go back and talk to Jennifer in the Marketplace. Exit out to the World Map and enter Domina again. Go back and talk to Mark and Rachel to end the Event.
