Alexandrite is a quest in Legend of Mana.

Premise[edit]

Back in Domina, Elazul and Pearl agree to meet with Diana in Geo. The protagonist is tasked to escort the Jumi Guardian while the Jumi of Lapis attend to his duties in Domina. After his departure, Pearl confides in the hero that Elazul thinks that what happened to Esmeralda is all his fault. Returning to the Palace of Arts's basement, the duo discovers that Diana has turned into stone. Unsure about what to do next, they decide to ask the palace owner Krissie for more information. Pearl and the protagonist learn from her butler Sotherbee that Jumi turn into rocks if they shut out their emotions. Pearl corrects him by stating that this is part of a partner selection ceremony where a Jumi first gathers keys of the heart. They use the keys to awaken a stone guardian and become her knight. The party then settles on finding the three keys of the heart scattered around Geo. They discover the first key, the Key of Hate, in Mephianse's office; the second one, the Key of Pride, near the city's gates; They find the final key, the Key of Pain, inside "Lester's Harp" Instrument Shop. Each time they find a key, Pearl gets a strange feeling of being watched. Upon returning to the basement, they find that the Jumi of Diamond statue has been moved to the battle area further downstairs. Elazul enters the room, asking if they have found the keys of the heart. He explains that Diana has turned herself into stone to avoid being killed by the jewel hunter. He then tell Pearl to use the keys on the statue. This automatically reanimate Diana, who is ready to divulge crucial information about the jewel hunter and her motive. The Diamond Jumi reveals that Sandra wants revenge against the Jumi. In ages past, the Jumi were known as friendly people, as they cried tears of crystal for the wounded, effectively sacrificing their lives for others' survival. But when the age of widespread Jumi hunting ended, that all changed. The Jumi adapted so they themselves could survive and no longer cried for others. They cut themselves from the outside world and lived hidden in a secret city of their own, the Bejeweled City. Unfortunately, Diana couldn't finish her story in time, as the jewel hunter erupts into the room. Sandra accuses Diana of using Florina as a sacrifice against the Deathbringer. Upon hearing that Florina might be still alive, Diana urges the party to bring her here. The jewel hunter retort back by questioning her motive of making her cry in that manner, and tries to steal Diana's core. Pearl implores Sandra to stop, as hatred saves no one, but Sandra replies she could use her tears instead of Florina, throwing a sharp card into Pearl's core. The jewel hunter then robs Diana of her gem and laughs about their pitiful attempt at protecting her while escaping the room. In her last words, Diana pleads Elazul, Pearl, and the protagonist to find Lady Blackpearl as only she can stop Sandra. The party mourns its loss as the three of them watch as the Jumi of Diamond is transformed into a single jewel. Elazul tells the others that they need to think about the Jumi race and the jewel hunter, before leaving with Pearl.

Solution[edit]

Enter Domina. Go to the bar and talk to Elazul. Agree to take Pearl to Geo.

Enter Geo and go talk to Diana at Kristie’s place. Tell Pearl everything is okay and talk to Kristie. Now you’ll need to collect 3 keys and here’s how:

  • Go to Mephianse’s office in the Academy of Magic
  • Go to the City’s gates
  • Go to the Instrument Shop
  • Go back to Kristie’s Place and talk to Kristie, who will say she had the statue moved.
  • Head downstairs to find Diana missing.
  • Head to the Underground Battle Arena to find her.
