The Looking-Glass Tower is a quest in Legend of Mana.

Premise[edit]

Upon exploring the Tower of Leires, the protagonist encounters a lone Pearl gazing at the ominous building. As she backs up, the bumps into the hero, startling her. The explains that she and Elazul have been separated again and that the tower is calling her. The main character joins and the newly formed group start ascending the tower. After climbing several floors, the duo reaches the Door of Fate. Pearl explains that beyond that door lies the Room of Fate and that eventually, everyone must meet their past. She ponders for a short while, then ask the protagonist to run if anything dangerous happens. The two enters the room and come face to face with an individual bearing striking resemblance to Pearl. The Jumi princess asks the doppelganger about her past, but get thrown back by powerful magic. A monstrous centaur emerges from the shadows and confronts the party. After the fight, Pearl reunites with Elazul, who scolds her again for wandering alone. The Jumi princess tries to apologize, but Elazul interrupts her by thanking the protagonist and get her to move on. Pearl stops him by telling her memories feel so close and that she needs more time. Elazul understands and orders the main character to escort her fiend outside the tower in due time. He adds that if anything happens to her, that he will kill him/her. Pearl and her mercenary head back to the 1st floor, but notice a mysterious note on the ground. Turns out the Jewel Hunter is after her core and swoops down from the ceiling, calling a Jewel Beast for reinforcement. After defeating the monster, Sandra congratulate Pearl for having such a strong partner and vanishes before divulging her reason for hunting Jumis's cores. Pearls worries that Elazul might want to find another guardian to protect and she'll be vulnerable eithout him. She bids farewell to the protagonist and lends him the Frozen Heart Artifact before leaving.
