Diddle Had It! is a quest in Legend of Mana.

Premise[edit]

While performing in Lumina, Diddle leaves his partner once again without notice, which angers Capella greatly. Some time later, Lumina is besieged with Shadoles, which prompts Capella to look for him. Diddle is seen being kidnapped by Shadoles while his helpless partner tries to rescue him by following them to the Underworld. The musical creature admits to Capella that he's had it with life and is being sent to the Underworld by the Shadoles. Both of the performers are teleported underground, along with the protagonist. The latter is greeted by Pokiehl, to tells him/her that this place is really meant for those who still cling to life, since as long as you still feel hapiness or sorrow one should avoid the Shadoles. These demons sense emotions and will try to drag unaware people to the depths of the Underworld. The main character is meant to heed those words literally, as should he/she touches a Shadole during his/her escape, he/she should be sent back to the depths of the Underworld. After avoiding the many hellish demons, the hero reunites with Diddle and Capella. The smaller performer doesn't want to go back to the surface, as he accuses his partner of harnessing all the fun during their shows while he is left with emptiness. Capella replies that he doesn't have a smile because he's happy, but this makes his partner even more envious. The monkey tries to reason his friend by admiting the world is boring, but he can make it a better place with his sense of purpose. Diddle promises he won't become a Shadole while Capella answers back that he swears he won't laugh or even smile if he comes with him. The group of Shadoles circling Diddle lead him on a secret that should he run forward, he won't become on of them, but if he doesn't a monster with gobble him up. The evil spirits conjure up an Ape Mummy for the protagonist to defeat, which makes the performing duo gain enough time to reach the surface again. The two of them decide to stay for a short while to contemplate the starry sky.

Solution[edit]

Enter Lumina. Go to the Tavern in the western section and talk to Capella and Diddle. Leave and return to that area to have Diddle leave. Return home and go back out to the World Map to have four Shadoles enter Lumina.

Go back to Lumina and talk to Capella. He will leave. Leave the area and watch Diddle get taken hostage.

Enter Underworld and you’ll be teleported to the lowest level.

DON’T TALK TO POKIEHL or you may fail this Event.

Chase Capella and Diddle but do not touch any of the Shadoles or you will teleport back to the beginning. Follow these instructions:

  • Left
  • Go through two groups of the Shadoles
  • Go through two long rooms
  • Go past the Shadoles that disappear (Be careful, they are still there)
  • Go past the Shadoles that disappear (note the locations)

Defeat the Ape Mummy to end this Event. Be sure to not enter Domina after this event, just go directly Home and move on to the next Event.
