Two Pearls is a quest in Legend of Mana.

Premise[edit]

After being injured by Sandra in the Mevik Caverns while attempting to save Pearl, the Jumi Knight cannot resolve himself to stay bedridden while his friend roams unattended. He tells the protagonist that it is too late as jewels take thousands of years to form, and only Jumi tears or teardrop crystal can heal their core instantly. Unfortunately, Jumis has lost the ability to cry. Elazul tries to get up after hearing from the main character that he/she hasn't heard of Pearl's whereabouts, but his body seems too weak to support him. He nevertheless runs away while the hero is not looking. The protagonist finds the Jumi of Lapis crouching before the gates of the Tower of Leires, telling him/her not to worry about him. The two join forces in investigating the structure, eventually reaching the Door of Fate. Elazul stops the main character, telling him/her that the Door opens only for one who knows the person inside. He tries opening it, but fails to do so. The hero successfully go through the Door of Fate, inside observing two strikingly similar Pearls looking at each other. The more mature one, Lady Blackpearl, informs the other that her goal is to reach the Stratum of Clarius, after which she will become the Clarius, becoming Florina and give her life to the Jumi. As the Mana Sword is reclaimed along with the power of the Mana Stones, Pearl must perservere and give her life in tears of crystal in order to bring the Jumi back to life. Visibly afraid, Pearl states that she doesn't want to die, but Lady Blackpearl cuts her off in saying that she must fulfill her role. Elazul tries to rescue her friend, but is stopped by Lady Blackpearl, who threatens him to die if he lays his hands on her. The Jumi of Lapis Lazuli and the protagonist start confronting the black Lady who decides to continue the fight in a room below. After the combat, Elazul orders Lady Blackpearl to swear to leave Pearl alone. She complies, but says that Pearl is her propriety now and will come back to her.
