Catchin' Lilipeas is a quest in Legend of Mana.

Premise[edit]

Sotherbee invited Hamson and Skippie to catch Lilipeas in the White Forest since they are rare and her mistress Kristie is crazy for them. The two lads will be awarded 1,000 Lucre for each captured Lilipea, whoever brings him the most will be promoted as an executive of the Kristie Group. The protagonist is also incentivised to do the same and hunt begins. Further along the path, an elegant man named Reverend Nouvelle claims that he has found the legendary village of the Lilipeas, but that they won't let him in. Apparently, they are a few Lilpeas angry at being chased at in the forest, which prevent intruders from entering their village. The hero decides to help them by breaking the barrels Skippie and Hamson used to capture the creatures, effectively setting them free. The hunters eventually reaches the Lillpeas's Village entrance, telling each other that they're not so keen on capturing them anymore. They discuss what they could do instead to start their lives anew, both coming up with the titles "Legend of" to name their next personal adventure. They decide to separate while the protagonist enters the fabled village. Inside, Reverend Nouvelle assists the protagonist by translating the language of the Lilipeas. The scholar explains that Mephianse is the only other person who's studied the creatures and discovered that they are descendent of Anuella's dolls. They were made with clay and thread and started making more of their own kind. The Reverend also translates a message from the village elder, saying that he wants the protagonist to slay a giant monster in the White Forest. Guided by the elder, the protagonist fights a giant mantis, effectively restoring peace in the forest. The Village elder give some Lorimar Iron as thanks.
