The Bulette is a recurring enemy in the Mana series. It is an infrequent monster that appears in a few installments. Its name and design were taken straight from the Dungeons & Dragons bestiary. It is a heavily armored creature.

General Information[edit]

Physical Description[edit]

Bulettes could be described as having a large rhinoceros body with some armadillo elements to it design. Its first appearance in Final Fantasy Adventure had smoother, rounder body shape, while subsequent depictions added horns and a spiky tail. Its body is also coverted with sturdy keratinous plates hinting at its strong endurance and defensive power, making them difficult to defeat. Normal Bulettes are colored gray, white or yellow.

Attributes[edit]

Bulettes are almost alway exclusively seen roaming deserts and wastelands and have not seem to acclimated in any other biomes.

Bulettes have a natural affinity to earth magic and seem to fear Undine spells.

Variants[edit]

The Bulette family seems to have been tiered into precious metals, namely silver, gold, and platinum.

  • The Gold Bulette has a gold coating armor and seems to share the same environment of its regular brethren.

The Bulette is an enemy that is only encountered in the Crystal Desert. This rhino-like creature does possess high attack and can cause serious damage upon collision. While only having a meager 4 HP, its tough hide makes it impervious to most weapons and magic aside from the Morningstar and the Flare spell. Despite its subpar experience and money yield, it can be slain for a chance to drop the Adaman Brew.

In Adventures of Mana, Bulettes move faster and are seen charging like rhinos.

Trials of Mana[edit]

Bulettes reappear in Trials of Mana this time wandering inside the vast Burning Sands. Their high HP and defense can make them a hassle since they can also charge at their oppponent. Fortunately, they are weak to Sylphid magic and saber. Encountering them in groups is what makes them truly dangerous.

Players can obtain the Bulette Scale by defeating Bulettes or at the Night Market to temporarily raise their defense.
