The Kraken is a recurring boss in the Mana series. Akin to its mythological roots, it is potrayed as a giant white and/or blue squid with a large conical head and beady red eyes. Its Visions of Mana depiction scales it to humongous proportions, now towering over a standard cruise ship.

The giant squid is usually vulnerable to Fire attacks and strong against Water magic. It attacks by extending its tentacles to unsuspecting targets, and spraying ink to blind their opponents. When its health is reduced, it may send out reinforcement. In Visions of Mana, the Kraken can also spew out large row of bubbles to inflict damage. It movement patterns are usually limited to bodies of water.

Appearances[edit]

Final Fantasy Adventure/Adventures of Mana[edit]

The Kraken is fought on a bridge at the end of the Subterranean River while the hero is on the search for the legendary weapon. The protagonist must slay the humongous creature in order to open the path to the Undersea Volcano.

In the original Game Boy version, the Kraken cannot move its body whatsoever. Its only attack is to lunge one of its tentacles at Sumo.

In Adventures of Mana, the Kraken stomps the bridge by slamming its tentacles. It can now dive underwater and search the bridge with the tip of a tentacle. Defeating it will reward the player with the Kraken Cleaver achievement.

Trials of Mana[edit]

His friend siren Elle reluctantly starts singing, accidentally luring the sea creature and almost destroying the whole vessel in the process.
