Lilipeas are a race and minor supporting characters in Legend of Mana and recurring characters in the Mana series.
Background[edit]
Coming into being during the time of the holy wars, the Lilipeas were said to have resided in the northern mountains then, and were helmed by Selva of the Four Winds. Lilipeas are known to multiply by rolling mud into Lilipea shapes, and have lifespans that curtail at 7 years.

Huntin' Du'Cate[edit]
Sotherbee has gathered Skippie and Hamson to the Jungle for a task Madame Kristie need them to fulfill. The dog explains they must hunt and capture the legendary Du'Cate and get his prized tail for a hefty sum as reward. Skippie is enthusiastic about receiving such a big amount of money, but Sotherbee clarifies that his debt would only go down from 10,000,000 lucre to 9,980,000, making the sly little man think that the anthropomorphic dog has deceieved him and Hamson. The lapdog replies they must pay back what they broke inside the Palace. If the main character speaks with Sotherbee, he will inform them they will reward them 20,000 lucre for each Du'Cate's tail they retrieve.
Moments later, a lilipea dashes around Sotherbee, the latter shouting that each of them are worth 100,000 lucre and that the protagonist should try catching them. The little fellow scurries away before anyone can claim their prey, however. Skippie claims moments later to have found a big animal worth more his fare share of money, but it turns out to be the King of the Jungle and Wisdom, Rosiotti. The hero finds the humongous ape and defeats it, nabbing them his tail. Sotherbee only gives them 500 lucre, however. If the player decides to give the money to Skippie and Hamson, the lapdog will be impressed and give them the Sand Rose artifact instead.
Catchin' Lilipeas[edit]
Skippie and Hamson are hired by Sotherbee to catch lilipeas as his master Kristie holds a peculiar obssession about them. The dog claims he will grant them 1,000 lucre for each captured lilipea and whoever brings him the most will be promoted as an executive of the Kristie Group.
While searching for the elusive creatures, the protagonist encounters Rev. Nouvelle, who claims he's found the legendary village of the Lilipeas. However, they won't let him in. He asks the protagonist to go help some of them around the forest to gain their trust.
After wandering for while in the woods, Rev. Nouvelle can be found in the Lilipea village and can translate some of their speech to the main character. He tells he always thought Lilipeas were a legend as Mephianse is the only person he knows who's studied them. They are said to be descendents of Anuella's dolls. They multiplied by crafting them out of clay and thread. He's spend years studying their language. The scholar can translate the village's speech and will learn there's a terrifying monster roaming the forest they want the hero to kill. The elder will give a Lorimar Iron for his trouble.
Circle of Mana[edit]
Lilipeas make a cameo appearance in the online game, along with several other characters from the Mana series. She appears in 4 sets of cards.

Belying the adorable, endearing appearance and antics of the Lilipeas is a collective spirit of tenacity and fearlessness, one that is tempered by the ravages of warfare that Fa'Diel by storm in ages past, as illustrated through their manifestation in the World History encyclopedia.
This spirit of the Lilipeas is not explicitly depicted within the events of the game itself, and they are instead portrayed as beings that are peace-loving, a fact that sees them choosing to lead a life of sequestration by taking up residence in a remote section of The White Forest.
