Fake It Till You Make It is a side quest in Visions of Mana. It is available after defeating Vaulchibel in Dorpher Volcano during chapter 7.

"Marin in town has been duped on many an occasion by monsters known as Shape Shifters. These tricky customers are known to appear sporadically on Dorpher Volcano. Head over there and help her exact a little payback for…whatever trick they pulled."
