Side Quest (Visions of Mana)

Side Quests are part of an important gameplay in Visions of Mana. They are typically short objectives outside of the main story given by non-player characters and reward players with items or lucre upon completion.
Overview[edit]
Side quests are triggered upon accepting a request from non-player characters with an exclamation point above their heads. A flag will then be displayed on the map and the mini-map and its entry added to the Side Quests Menu.
Some side quests will display hint zones on the map represented by blue circles, aiding the players during their exploration. Some quest will require items to retrieve from the overworld. These will be shown as a red orb on the ground for the player to collect, similar to a yellow sparkle. Players can also choose to prioritize a side quest should they are in the process of completing more than one. This will produce a quest icon on the mini-map.
After completing a side quest requirement, such as collecting an item or reaching a point on the map, the Side Quests Menu will update to show the next objective, typically returning to the NPC. A checkmark will replace the exclamation point above their heads a proof of completion. Interacting with them will reward the player.
