Scales of the Problem is a side quest in Visions of Mana. It is available at the start of chapter 6.

"Marko, Ruka’s younger brother, is at the Temple of Wendel to gather some Seaserpent scales to fix his sister’s broken earring. Defeat some Seaserpents, gather any scales they drop, and bring them back to little Marko."

"Marko got to work on fixing up the earring as soon as you handed him the scales. After thanking you, he darted off excitedly to find his sister and surprise her with the newly repaired earring. You could only imagine the look on her face when she sees the lovingly repaired accessory.."
