Topple Village is a location and settlement in Sword of Mana. It's located in the north region of the world, and it's connected to the Path to Topple to the south and Topple Outskirts to the east.

Story

Hero's Story

After being fished out by Niccolo and saving the Heroine from danger in Path to Topple, the Hero finally escorts her to Topple Village a quaint settlement of Mana believers hiding from heretic hunters. Shortly after arrive, the girl will soon leaves.

If the hero enters the first residence on the right side of the city entrance, the Topple Grandfather will mistake him for one of the Realm soldiers, and will say that he is not one of Mana Godness's followers and ask him to leave his house, despite this, if the Hero checking the furniture on the left side of the table will discover mana paraphernalia.

Leaving the house, the Hero will be approached by the man's grandson, who will question what he was doing in the house, and will also mistake him as one of the Granz realm soldiers arresting the followers. The old man will leave the house, and say they are not followers again, but the Topple boy will refuse to go along with this lie and reveal himself to be a follower, daring the Hero to kill him.

After clearing things up, the old man will explain that the followers have been hunted by the Dark Lord's Heretic hunters, with Topple being one of the most persecuted locations, the Hero will ask how he can defeat the Dark Lord, and the Topple Grandfather will soon mention that he will need the Sword of Mana, which Cibba the sage in Wendel can tell you more about. After that, Topple Grandfather will hand over the Magic Rope to help with the adventure.

If the Hero goes to the residence in the northwest part of the villa and talks to the Topple Gentleman, he will mistake him for an adventurer who was going to visit the knight who lives in Cascade cottage in the north part, giving a clue to the Hero to visit him.

Niccolo will be near the golden godness statue, complaining about not being able to sell a book. If the Hero tries to leave for Topple Outskirts, Niccolo will stop him, and after recognizing him from the previous encounter he will ask anyway the reason for the adventure, which the Hero answering that he will avenge his parents' death. Niccolo will force the protagonist to buy Popoi's notebook for 10 lucres, and will leave. Then, the he can proceds for his path to Wendel.

Heroine's Story

Looking for Mana followers, the Heroine arrives first at Topple from the west.

Niccolo can be found near the golden godness statue, complaining about not being able to sell a book. If the Heroine tries to leave back to Topple Outskirts, he will stop her and ask anyway the reason for the adventure, which she answering that she want to find her mother. Niccolo will force the protagonist to buy Popoi's notebook for 10 lucres, and will leave.

If the Heroine visits the house in the northwest part of the village, the Topple Gentleman will recognize her, and warn that the Heretics Hunters are looking for Mana followers to turn into slaves to fight in the arena, it has been this way, he replies, since the rise of the Dark Lord, who unlike Vandole denies the power of Mana, and advises talking to Cibba in Wendel.

Going to the house in the southeast part, the Topple Gentleman asks if she would pray a hundred times to mana godness, which he replies is the right thing to do. As for his grandson, he asks the favor of recovering a book lost in the meadow at the forest to the south, which she accepts, and leaves to there.

Later, returning to Topple with the Hero, he soon leaves, and the Heroine suspect he is the same boy from the past, but she is not sure.

Going back into the house in the southeast part, she will return the lost book to the boy, who will thank her. The boy's grandfather will apologize for what happened, and offer her to rest there, afterwards, he will wish her a safe journey and give the Magic Rope to help in her journey.

If she revisits the Topple Gentleman at the northwest house, he will tell that the Hero visited him, and that he told him about her uncle which he seem pretty interesting, the Heroine will think that the Hero really is a soldier from Granz, and worried with Bogard will go back to Cascade Cottage.

Other informations can be heard from the inhabitants, as one of them says that the passage to Wendel's cave was sealed by the master of Vinquette Hall, another person will also gossip that this master is an underworld Marvole and that Vinquette Hall's gates will only open after dark. And another one, will tell about some missing girls in this place.
