Story[edit]

After defeating Devius in his manor, and the events that followed, the protagonist along with Lester or Bogard departed to Granz's Castle by the Miasma Glen path.

In a cutscene, Lester manages to dissipate the toxic fog that covered the place with his music and Granz's lute, clearing the way for them to continue. When they reach the end of this, the two then pass through this cave covered in flora and vines, opening their way by cutting it.

When they reach the end of the cave, the protagonist can't continue, because whenever trying to open a path by cutting the vines covering the passage, these continue to grow.

The ally will notice that this vines are alive, and will suggest to head in the other direction.

Going deeper into the cave, they will hear Julius voice speaking, emphasizing that now their hands are also covered in blood.

Suddenly, a shadow of Julius will project, saying that with so much blood on his hands he could almost qualify them to join him, inviting them to rebuild the Vandole Empire.

In the Hero's story, Lester will deny join him saying that his bad intentions are clear, as well as the Hero, who will describing it as a despicable empire. Julius' shadow will laugh, and call the Hero a simple minded person and that the Dark Lord understands the idea much better than he does. Angry, the protagonist tries to attack him, but the shadow will disappear, being a mere illusion.

In the Heroine's story, Bogard will start answing him irritably but will be interrupted by the Heroine, who asks his intentions. He reveals that he wants the Mana power for himself, even tries to convince the Heroine to join him, saying she is stained with the blood of the fallen. Angry, the protagonist tries to attack him, but the shadow will disappear, being a mere illusion.

In both stories, Julius' shadow voice will echo saying that it's in the protagonist's nature to fight, so he will give them an opportunity, then calling the Door of Darkness, he summons one of his servants from him and soon a battle ensues.

After defeating the summoned monster, a fragment of this will runs away to a deeper part, and join another bigger one. Defeating the bigger one, Dryad will appear, and after a brief dialogue, the main character will asking Dryad to help with the vines blocking the way, who will happily agree.

Back in the vine-sealed cave, Dryad will remove the plants and try to leave, but the ally will stops her by asking her to stay with them. After convincing the spirit, Dryad joined the group, then they proceed out of the cave.
