The party sleeping at an inn in Secret of Mana (Collection of Mana)

Inns are recurring locations in the Mana series. In some games, players can pay a small fee to rest and fully restore their characters's HP and MP, as well as curing status ailments. These establishments are usually found within towns and villages, but some can also be found on the overworld. Some installments also allow players to save their game progession.

The Hero can stay at any inn for 10 gold pieces, restoring his HP, MP and Will Bar. In Final Fantasy Adventure, saying Yes to staying the night will prompt the inn keeper to reply "Good night!" with the screen fading to black. The effects are kept the same in Adventures of Mana but the owner will say: "Pleasant dreams!" instead. Also, the sign used for the inn in the original game and the Japan-only 2006 mobile version spells "INN" in all capital letters while it is replaced by a bed in Adventures of Mana.

Most inns are found in towns but some are also scattered around the overworld. It is interesting to note that Sumo will not get his stats restored after the Kett Manor cutscene with Fuji disappearing in her sleep.

Secret of Mana

The party can stay at an inn to replenish their HP and MP, as well as reviving Ghost allies. Furthermore, the player can also save their game progression either before or after staying the night.

The HD remake added inn cutscenes, each of them playing after completing a story segment. Certain non-player characters, such as Luka in the Water Palace. Popoi's Grandpa in the Wind Palace and Krissie on the Sunken Continent will fully heal the party for free. Sage Luka and Popoi's Grandpa will also allow to save the game.

The inn signs in the original SNES version and the 2010 mobile installment spell "INN" in capital letters. The HD remake shows a bed under a crescent moon instead.

Inn locations:

Trials of Mana

Functioning the same as in previous titles, an inn exists in each settlement that the party visits. Prices vary depending on where the party is relative to the story, but on Mana Day, all inns are free. Finding Li'l Cactus in the HD remake will void the cost of all inns regardless of the day of the week.

Here, the party can also plant seeds in and retrieve items from the Magic Pot. In the HD remake, all of the Magic Pots share the experience gained and will drop better items as they level up.

The party can also rest and recover at a gold Mana Statue while in the field.
