Element (term)
Elements are the natural forces present in every world of the Mana series, from which spiritual and magical energy can be drawn so as to focus both into executing spells and other moves.
Fire[edit]
Associated with heat, flame, explosives, and lava.
- Salamando is its corresponding Mana Spirit.
- Fire typically opposes Water/Ice element, as fire magic will be effective against water enemies and fire foes will be weak against water.
- Some monster types, such as Demi-human, reptile, and dragon are known for casting fire elemental magic and are resistant against it.
- The Burn status effect is frequently associated with fire magic.
- Red and Orange colors are usually paired with fire.
- In some games where days of the weeks are paired with an elemental, Salamander day usually strengthens fire magic and decreases water damage.
- In some games, fire magic can temporarily upgrade physical attack and/or decrease magic attack and/or defense.
- Some characters, enemies, equipment, and locations are associated or have an affinity with fire. Here are some of the best known examples:

- Some monster types, such as aquatic and reptile are known for casting water elemental magic and are resistant against it.
- The Snowman status effect is frequently associated with water magic.
- Blue and Turquoise colors are usually paired with water.
- In some games where days of the weeks are paired with an elemental, Undine day usually strengthens water magic and decreases fire damage.
- In some games, water magic can temporarily upgrade magic attack and/or magic defense and decrease physical attack.

- Wind typically opposes Earth element, as wind magic will be effective against earth enemies and aerial foes will be weak against earth.
- Some monster types, such as aerial and birds are known for casting wind elemental magic and are resistant against it.
- The Balloon and Mute status effects is frequently associated with wind magic.
- Light Green and Yellow are usually paired with wind.
- In some games where days of the weeks are paired with an elemental, Jinn day usually strengthens wind magic and decreases earth damage.
- In some games, wind magic can temporarily upgrade agility and/or decrease physical defense.

- Some monster types, such as oddities and morphs are known for casting light elemental magic and are resistant against it.
- The Charm status effect is frequently associated with light magic.
- White and Light Yellow, sometimes tinted with and Cyan, are usually paired with light.
- In some games where days of the weeks are paired with an elemental, Wisp/Lumina Hour corresponds to daytime and usually strengthens light magic and decreases darkness damage.

- Dark typically opposes Light element, as light magic will be effective against light elemental enemies and dark elemental foes will be weak against light.
- Some monster types, such as undead and demonic are known for casting dark elemental magic and are resistant against it.
- Instant-death moves are frequently associated with dark magic.
- The Darkness status effect is frequently associated with dark magic.
- Black and Violet are usually paired with darkness.
- In some games where days of the weeks are paired with an elemental, Shade Hour corresponds to nighttime and usually strengthens dark magic and decreases light damage.

Moon/Metal[edit]
Associated with the moon, lunar power, mystical forces, gravity, transmutation, and, in Legend of Mana, metal.
- Luna is its corresponding Mana Spirit in most Mana games, except in Legend of Mana where Aura takes its place.
- Moon and Metal typically opposes Wood element, as moon/metal magic will be effective against wood elemental enemies and moon elemental foes will be weak against wood.
- Some monster types, such as oddities and morphs are known for casting moon or metal elemental magic and are resistant against it.
- The Moogle status effect is frequently associated with moon magic.
- Yellow and Gold are usually paired with moon.
- In some games where days of the weeks are paired with an elemental, Moon Day usually strengthens moon magic and decreases wood damage.
- In some games, moon magic can temporarily upgrade HP and/or absorb enemy's HP.

Associated with plants, wood, poison, flowers, and the closest element to the Mana Tree.
- Dryad is its corresponding Mana Spirit.
- Wood typically opposes Moon and Metal elements, as wood magic will be effective against moon elemental enemies and moon elemental foes will be weak against wood.
- Some monster types, such as plants are known for casting wood elemental magic and are resistant against it.
- The Sleep and Poison status effects is frequently associated with wood magic.
- Dark Green is usually paired with wood.
- In some games where days of the weeks are paired with an elemental, Dryad Day usually strengthens wood magic and decreases moon damage.
- In some games, wood magic can temporarily upgrade MP and/or absorb enemy's MP.
