Li'l Cactus is a supporting character in Legend of Mana and a recurring character in the Mana series
An anthropomorphic flowering cactus that lives in a small earthenware pot, the quiet yet curious succulent is a fixture of later titles. He first appears in Legend of Mana, where he keeps an equally curious diary of the player's adventure. Along with staple monsters like the rabite, molebear, and mushboom, Li'l Cactus is one among many mascots associated with the series.
Being a potted plant in many of his appearances, it was unclear exactly how Li'l Cactus is able to travel the world as is his hobby. Visions of Mana reveals that he has birdlike feet.

Li'l Cactus is the focus of his own sidequest exclusive to this version of the game. Starting from the Golden Road in Chapter I, he hides in 50 locations throughout the world. For every multiple of 5 found, the player receives a permanent bonus carried over the entire quest, which also transfers in a New Game Plus.
Visions of Mana[edit]
- Main article: Cactus Diary (Visions of Mana)
Li'l Cactus is once again the subject of a bonus sidequest, though his importance was downgraded significantly from his previous appearances. He is first seen frozen in the Rime Falls pass, where he will give up his diary to track the quest. He leaves one Diary Page for each location in which he is found, and will grant small bonuses at specific intervals.
