Final dungeon (term)
Final dungeons are locations where the final battles in the Mana series take place, generally in long, elaborate dungeons, filled with powerful enemies. They are usually the last place visited during the game, and often take place in or near the Sanctuary of Mana. The game's final boss awaits at the end of the dungeon.

Trials of Mana[edit]

- Main article: Sanctuary of Mana (Trials of Mana)
Note: While the final battle takes place within the Sanctuary of Mana, the previous dungeon tied to the main character could be considered more fitting of being a final dungeon.
The party arrives too late to the ruined Sanctuary as the main villain destroys the Mana Tree along with the Goddess, claiming the beginning of a new dark era of world domination. They offer the adventurers to ally with their devilish scheme, then destroy them once they decline. With her remaining energy, Faerie revives them, and the last battle ensues. The villain is ultimately destroyed, with Faerie becomming the new sapling destined to become the next holy tree.
Dawn of Mana[edit]

The Nethermanse sits atop the Great Tree on Illusia Isle and is the setting for the duration of the last chapter. It is a large castle with predominantly gloomy atmosphere containing a vast array of rooms. Keldric confronts Stroud now transformed as a Grimslie in his throne room. The self-proclaimed King of Mavolia gloats before the hero and kills Ritzia before raising his sword at his brother in a final attempt at releasing the Echoes meant to plunge the world into chaos. The King is ultimately defeated, but the Great Witch Anise is awoken from Ritzia's corpse and intents to free the Echoes once and for all. Keldric and Faye battles for the fate of Fa'Diel in the deepest part of the dungeon, where she is stabbed by him, allowing her to reunite with her lover Granz.
The hero gives Faye the sapling from his arm, transforming the fused Spirit Child and Ritzia into the Mana Goddess. The reborn deity allows for the world to be rid of Thanatos by using the fabled Sword of Mana.
Visions of Mana[edit]

Once more, the final battle takes place at the Mana Tree. The final dungeon, however is a warped reality manufactured by Daelophos to deter Val and his companions whilst he plots to kill the sleeping Mana Goddess. The heroes manage to wend their way through the convoluted maze to confront the fallen hero with the fractured Mana Sword. After a grueling fight, the party subdues him. In order to strike the final blow, the corestones in Val's possession materialize into spirits of the past who then reforge the blade, which pierces Daelophos' shell. The hero yields, and the Goddess is at last able to awaken. In thanks for her safety, the goddess grants Val one wish. His request is never revealed, though it can be assumed that a renewed Qi'Diel absent of sacrifice was the thing he wished for. Val lives to a ripe old age as an elder of Tianeea and passes in peace, his soul ascended to the Mana Tree where it reunites with an ascendant Hinna as Goddess.
