Unrevisitable locations

Unrevisitable locations are locations accessed automatically during the storyline which cannot be returned to after a certain point in the game. They can typically be visited once and players aren't usually warned in-game that they won't be able to revisit them.

History

Final Fantasy Adventure & Adventures of Mana

The battle arena and prison in Glaive Castle is unrevisitable after Sumo slays a Jackal for the second time during the introduction.

The Airship can only be accessed before triggering the cutscene where Julius confronts Sumo on a catwalk while he attempts to rescue Fuji.

The Dime Tower can only be visited until Sumo and Marcie defeat the Garuda guarding the structure, as it will sink into Glass Desert once again.

Once the player completes Dime Tower and uses the waterfall near Glaive Castle to get access to the Mana Temple, the entire world map becomes inaccessible.

Secret of Mana

Potos Village and Potos Falls become inaccessible once the player agrees to leave his hometown to the male NPC on the village southern exit.

The Underground City and the Great Palace can only be visited during the emerged segment of the Sunken Continent and become inaccessible once the player fights the Snap Dragon in the Mana Palace.

Pure Land is only accessible after the Sunken Continent segment and before the party confront the Blue Dragon.

Trials of Mana & Trials of Mana HD

While Astoria can be revisited after meeting up with Faerie, all buildings are destroyed and cannot be entered.

Stonesplit Gap cannot be crossed on foot after the bridge is destroyed. In the remake, the player must enter each pass from the north or south to collect any items on them.

Cascade Cavern is cut off from Rabite Forest after the second visit. In the remake, the player can enter via Holy City Wendel to pick up Li'l Cactus.

The Laurent Secret Base is closed after Citadel Laurent is recaptured.

The Ghost Ship disappears after Shade is freed.

Beuca Island, Tomato Town, and Seaside Cavern are cut off after obtaining Vuscav.

Because of how the game allows a selection of characters to be played with, some playthroughs can only grant access to some hometowns after they are normally visited while not choosing a specific character prevents the player from exploring said locations. Also, final dungeons are tied to a specific character, so choosing a protagonist guarantees only one dungeon out of three will be explorable.

• If Duran or Angela aren't the protagonist, Altena cannot be visited during Chapter IV. Also, the Crystal Desert and Dragonsmaw dungeon won't be accessible either.

• If Kevin or Charlotte aren't the protagonist, Ferolia cannot be visited during Chapter IV. Also, the Jungle of Visions and Mirage Palace dungeon won't be accessible either.

• If Hawkeye or Riesz aren't the protagonist, Nevarl cannot be visited during Chapter IV. Also, the Night Cavern and Dark Castle dungeon won't be accessible either.

• If Riesz isn't the protagonist, Citadel Laurent cannot be revisited after the Laurent army counterattack in Chapter II.

• If Angela isn't the protagonist, Altena cannot be visited altogether, unless in the 3D remake if the player accepts to play Angela's opening gambit. She must be a party member in order to do so.

• If Kevin isn't the protagonist, Ferolia cannot be visited altogether, unless in the 3D remake if the player accepts to play Kevin's opening gambit. He must be a party member in order to do so.

• If Hawkeye isn't the protagonist, Nevarl cannot be visited altogether, unless in the 3D remake if the player accepts to play Hawkeye's opening gambit. He must be a party member in order to do so.

The 3D remake allows the characters in the party to visit their hometown during post-game content.

• If Angela is in the party, the player can visit Altena to learn about the Sage Sphere's whereabouts.

• If Kevin is in the party, the player can visit Ferolia to challenge Gauser for the Instinct Sphere.

• If Hawkeye is in the party, the player can visit Nevarl to learn about the Loyal Sphere's whereabouts.

• If Riesz is in the party, the player can visit Laurent to learn about the Kind Sphere's wherabouts.

Some locations are unrevisitable regardless of the party roster.

• The Ghost Ship cannot be revisited after confronting Gova.

• Beuca Island, Tomato Town, and Seaside Cavern cannot be explored after reaching the end of the cavern and interacting with Malocchio.
