Cobra
The Cobra, also known as Great Boa or Rattler Boa, is a recurring enemy in the Mana series. They are poisonous snakes often living in arid areas, like their real life counterpart.
General Information[edit]
Physical Description[edit]
When first introduced in Final Fantasy Adventure, Cobras where smiply depicted as yellow skinned snakes with red underside. As they reappeared in Legend of Mana their design was changed to a green or reddish serpent with long flowy eyebrows and a rattle at the end of their tail. The green variant stuck ever since and even Adventures of Mana, FFA's remake, incorporated some of its designs in it depiction. Like real venomous snakes, Cobras and Boas from the Mana franchise usually attack by biting their enemies or by inflicting the poison status effect.
Attributes[edit]
Cobras are often seen roaming desert like areas, but can also be found in ruins and forests.
Contrary to most enemies, Cobras are not shown to favor one element over the others. In some games, they are weak to Shade and Aura spells while in others they fear Salamander.
Variants[edit]
The Cobra is know to have a few other members that fall under their umbrella.
- Dark Cobras are souped-up versions of regular Cobras from Sword of Mana. They only show up once the player has killed 1,000 Cobras. Like any other dark enemies, they are extremely powerful and should not be underestimated.
- Vipers are stronger brethrens to Cobras and are found near the end of games in both Sword of Mana and Children of Mana.
