The Vampire is a recurring boss in the Mana series. It is generally depicted as a cloaked man with a large bat head. The fur is sometimes colored blue or purple, and the tattered cloak is usually black or green with a red inside.

The Vampire has a variety of attacks ranging from summoning bats to impede the heroes to magical attacks inducing various status effects. Otherwise, it can bite, claw and kick as means of physical attacks depending the installment. In Secret of Mana its moves by making big leaps, whereas it hovers around the arena in Final Fantasy Adventure and Sword of Mana. Befitting its role and appearance, the Vampire is usually fought in creepy and ominous manors or ruins.

Following Dyluck's advice to check the ceremonial room's backdoor to find Primm, Randi and Popoi find their unconscious friend next to Thanatos. He eagerly declares her energy his, but his plans are foiled by Dyluck who revives her beloved. The mystic knight storms off, ordering Vampire to take them down.

A palette-swap of the Vampire, called Buffy in the original SNES version and King Vampire in the HD remake appears in the Mana Fortress.

The Vampire Cape is a body armor that can be obtained by defeating Fiend Heads.

Sword of Mana[edit]

The hero and heroine find an unconscious Isabella at an altar next to Count Lee. They confront him as he intends to take Fuji by force. He transform into his Vampire form and attack the party, but is eventually weakened enough to revert back to his normal self.

Echoes of Mana[edit]

The Vampire reprises his role as the owner of Kett's Manor in the side story Secrets of Kett Manor. As the party attempts to flee the mansion, the creature attacks them to avenge his fallen butler.
