Louie is a minor supporting character in Legend of Mana and a recurring character in the Mana series.
Background[edit]
831 years of age, Louie is the custodian of the Junkyard, taking the discarded toys and magical creatures into his care. As an ancient magical creature himself, he is known to be able to empathise with the plight of his fellow brethren.
History[edit]
Legend of Mana[edit]
- “The caretaker of the magical creatures at the Junkyard. He is an old magical creature himself, and he understands the anger and the sorrow they feel.”
- —In-game Encyclopedia
The Infernal Doll[edit]
Magnolia is seen listening with the other dolls at the entrance to the Junkyard. She tells them to stop their whining and that those who die with desire in their hearts are doom to wander the earth forever. The accuses the protagonist of being an artificer and they shouldn't be playing with the dolls's powers. She ventures deeper into the junkyard after telling the main character she'll get her revenge. After following the directions provided by the toys, the hero finds Magnolia enchanting some dolls to attack them. After defeating the nuisance, the main character meets with Louie, an old magical creature and caretaker of the junkyard. He thanks the hero, stating that the toys believe that to die is to be saved.
General information[edit]
Physical appearance[edit]
Personality[edit]
In stark contrast to his doll brethren Magnolia, Louie is comparatively milder-tempered, electing to lead a life of calm, placid tranquility, as opposed to nursing a deep-seated hatred for humanity. Visiting him in his room in the Junkyard proves as much, where he can be observed to be hopping about in a carefree manner and brewing tea on occasion.
Although aware of the fact that humanity had effectively abandoned both him and the discarded toys, Louie does not follow his brethren in nursing an unslakable thirst for revenge against his makers; he instead adopts a neutral stance, electing to watch over the toys from the sidelines but never actively participating in any action to either resolve the feud or funnel it.
