Miss Yuka is a supporting character in Legend of Mana and a recurring character in the Mana series.
Background[edit]
A 35-year-old anthropomorphic bird, Miss Yuka is the proprietor of Domina's only inn. Although she constantly insists that she is a canary, rumors abound that she is, in actuality, an evolved Chocobo. It is said that it is imperative that one addresses her as "Miss Yuka".
History[edit]
Legend of Mana[edit]
- “The owner of Domina's only inn. She insists that she is a canary, but there are rumors that she is really a Chocobo. Addressing her as "Miss Yuka" is a must.”
- —In-game Encyclopedia
Miss Yuka is usually seen in the 'Mana’s Blessing' inn's lobby. She will tell the main character not to interact too much with her Pee-Wee Birdie as it is very fragile. If they speak with it 15 times, it will break and die and she will be extremely upset at the situation.
Pee-Wee Birdie[edit]
The main character brings a hunk of Menos Bronze, Baobab Wood, Animal Hide, Topple Cotton, a Flat Seed, a Citrisquid, a piece of Rotten Meat and a piece of Sulfur to Miss Yuka. She is overjoyed and tells them they saved her little Pee-Wee.
Diddle's Letter[edit]
Capella's partner Diddle has disappeared and the juggler has heard from a sproutling that he saw a bird carrying something in his beak. The monkey asks Miss Yuka if she did take his friend, but the inn's proprietor denies it as she cannot fly. Capella tells her he forgot she was a chicken, but she corrects him by stating she's a canary. However, Miss Yuka reveals she saw Diddle buy a stamp on her way back to the inn, so maybe Pelican carried him off to his destination. The monkey thinks it's a great idea, and states he'll go buy a stamp right away.
Circle of Mana[edit]
Miss Yuka makes a cameo appearance in the online game, along with several other characters from the Mana series. She appears in 1 set of cards.

General information[edit]
Physical appearance[edit]
Personality[edit]
Miss Yuka is portrayed as a matronly character who exudes a maternal air, befitting her occupation as the proprietor of Domina's inn. Such an occupation, demands her to be meticulous, tender, and warm, in the treatment of her guests. Her maternal inclinations are especially explicated through Pee-wee Birdie. There she displays an excessive fastidiousness in memorizing every last detail of the ingredients necessary to catalyze the hatching of her egg.
Although not explicitly displayed through her behaviour, Miss Yuka is known to be a rather sensitive and insecure character. Her encyclopedia summary proves as much, as she is described to take personal offense when anyone claims that she's a Chocobo, vehemently insisting that she's instead a canary.
