Vadise is a supporting character and boss in Legend of Mana and recurring character in the Mana series.

Background[edit]

Vadise, the White Dragon, is the Guardian of the White Forest, who is personally assisted by her Dragoon Sierra. She is one of the four great dragons of Fa'Diel, along with Akravator, Drakonis, and Jajara. She is also a member of the three Dragons of Knowledge, along with Drakonis and Jajara. It is said she is able to control nature around her.

History[edit]

Legend of Mana[edit]

The Dragon Princess[edit]

Vadise is first encountered near the Ancient Tree deep within the White Forest. She breaks the fight between Sierra and Larc and is forced to tell the Dragoon of Drakonis where her Mana Stone resides. The Dragon Princess pleads the protagonist to stop Larc and Drakonis from using Mana power for personal gains. She also entrusts her dragoon Sierra to protect Larc and the protagonist and go into the Underworld to prevent the Crimson Dragon to awaken.

The Crimson Dragon[edit]

After Drakonis's castle has risen from the Underworld, Vadise instructs Sierra in spirit form to no fight Drakonis alone should she be consumed by him like his brother. She also entrust her Dragoon and the hero with the bonds of life and urge them to put a stop on Drakonis. After the Crimson Dragon's defeat, the White Dragon's spirit reappears before Larc and Sierra to warn her dragoon not to touch her brother, as his Underworld curse will be transmitted onto her. She is last seen in the arc's epilogue in the White Forest, watching over Larc and Sierra's reunion.

Circle of Mana[edit]

Vadise makes a cameo appearance in the online game, along with several other characters from the Mana series. She appears in 1 set of cards.

General information[edit]

Physical appearance[edit]

Personality[edit]

Of the three protectors of the Mana Stones, Vadise is of a disposition that is significantly milder and genteel, seeking to resolve problems that come her way through pacifist means instead of resorting to violence. This fact is made especially evident in The Dragon Princess, where she stops Sierra's attempt to lay siege on Larc, thereafter calmly surrendering the Mana Stone to him.

Vadise is also known to be one who is immensely benevolent, a fact that sees her selflessly expending her draconic power in order to protect both Sierra and the Hero/Heroine from perishing in the midst of the uprising of The Flames. This benevolence of hers is one that is further extended through her assuming a spiritual form for the purpose of continuing to provide guidance to Sierra and the Hero/Heroine at the entrance of The Flames.
