Jajara is a minor antagonist in Legend of Mana and recurring characters in the Mana series.
Background[edit]
Jajara, the Bone Dragon, resides in the Bone Fortress where he presides over an army of Skeletal Soldiers. He is the oldest of the four great dragons of Fa'Diel, along with Akravator, Drakonis, and Vadise. He is also a member of the three Dragons of Knowledge, along with Akravator and Vadise. It is said he can influence the soil around him, providing the local flora with particular healing proprieties.
History[edit]
Legend of Mana[edit]
The Ghost of Nemesis[edit]
The second Dragon of Knowledge is first seen during The Ghost of Nemesis quest inside the Throne of Corpses deep within the Bone Fortress. Like his brother Akravator, he calls out Drakonis's selfish craving for Mana by deriding it as foolish. He is slain by Larc and the protagonist, who retrieve his Mana Stone as requested by Drakonis.
The Crimson Dragon[edit]
Jajara is resurrected in the epilogue of the Dragoon Arc where he is being visited by Sierra and the protagonist in his bony lair.
Circle of Mana[edit]
Jajara makes a cameo appearance in the online game, along with several other characters from the Mana series. He appears in 1 set of cards.
General information[edit]
Physical appearance[edit]
Personality[edit]
Not much can be deduced about Jajara's character, owing to the lack of speaking lines ascribed to him. Nevertheless, it can be perceived that he is driven by a strong sense of duty, one that has compelled him to be stalwart in the vigil that he keeps over the Mana Stone entrusted into his care.
Nevertheless, when one compares Jajara to Akravator, it can be deduced that he is noticeably more hot-headed and aggressive, as indicated by the harsh language he uses to chastise Larc just before launching an assault in The Ghost of Nemesis. This is probably the reason that Jajara had, prior to the events of Legend of Mana, been able to successfully oust the formidable Deathbringer from his seat of power and thereafter bend his will towards him.
