Diddle's Letter[edit]

Diddle and Capella are seen performing at the Mana Angel Park in Domina, when Diddle suddently leaves his partner. The anthropomorphic monkey is puzzled at first, but states he will be back. However, his partner doesn't which leaves Capella worried that his juggling won't be the same without his music. In the central plaza, a Sproutling tells the protagonist he saw a bird carying something in his beak. The monkey is seen asking Miss Yuka after interrogating the same Sproutling. The inn's proprietor tells him she cannot fly, so she couldn't be the culprit. Capella tells her he forgot she was a chicken, but she corrects him by stating she's a canary. However, Miss Yuka reveals she saw Diddle buy a stamp on her way back to the inn, so maybe Pelican carried him off to his destination. The monkey thinks it's a great idea, and states he'll go buy a stamp right away.

Capella still cannot find his friend, so he stick his stamp to his face, prompting Pelican to swoop down and grab him mid-flight. He shouts at her that he's no mail, but the bird replies she shouldn't delay lest she be off schedule and grabs him again by the head.

The main character ventures to Luon Highway and discovers a letter on the ground. Capella runs to it, stating it has Diddle's handwriting on it. If given the option to read the letter, the juggler finds out that his partner was unhappy with their lack of attendance and wanted to go home. This realization annoys Capella to the point of hurring down a road. The duo finally meet again near the entrance to a cave where Diddle asks his partner if he has read his letter. Capella denies the fact but is quickly found out. The shocked musician bolts off to the Chobin Hood Caves when the protagonist must vanquish a Giga Rex to find Diddle again. The two performers mend their differences and Diddle offers the main character a Gator Skin as thanks.

Diddle Had It![edit]

The duo is seen performing in Lumina, entertaining a gaggle of dudbears, when Diddle suddently leaves again mid-performance. Capella feigns not caring about it, but is visibly angry. He finally settles down and go look for his partner. Diddle is seen being taken away by a group of shadoles. The juggler trail them down to the Macabre Tombstone, and tries to stop the spirits from taking his friend to the Underworld. Diddle replies he cannot go on and wishes he'd be dead, which is why the shadoles are after him. They teleport both of them to the world below. The protagonist is also caught in their net and is forced to fall in the lower floors of hell.

They find Diddle and Capella in the Shrine of the Silent Faces, as the Monkey urges his friend to go back to the surface. His partner refuses, stating he always has fun and people are always entertained watching him, but he doesn't. Capella doesn't recall being happy all the time, but Diddle finds his discourse incoherent and phony. He finds life to be full of grief and strife, and watching Capella perform doesn't make it anything better. The juggler starts to understand and tells his friend he'll try to make the world a better place. Once he'll find it to his satisfaction, Capella will be waiting for him to come back. Diddle tells his partner he won't turn into a shadole, but a flock of them as assembled around him. The monkey tells his friend to get rid of those demonic spirits as he promise he won't laugh of smile if he comes with him to the surface.

Diddle and Capella manage to escape the Underworld while the protagonist takes care of a demonic monster, and the three of them can be seen at the Macabre Tombstone. Diddle asks his partner to stay a while longer there to gaze at the stars. Capella agrees, but only for a short while, otherwise he'll be too happy and break his promise. Diddle tells him it's okay to smile.

Diddle tells Capella he doesn't really care about life anymore, but the monkey warns him that a shadole may catch him for thinking that. Diddle states that fun doesn't last long and it feels like he doesn't exist once they're gone. He'd like to make someone happy. A Dudbear suddently makes his entrance and kidnaps Diddle. Cappella runs to his rescue.

The main character ventures into The White Forest and follows the Dudbears directions until they find Diddle next to Roger. He orders his lackey dudbears to keep digging until there's nothing left but a big large hole. Should monsters attack Roger claims Diddle will put them to sleep with his musical talent.
