Ponta is a minor character in Trials of Mana.

Trials of Mana[edit]
Upon visiting Astoria for the first time in Chapter I, player characters can interact with a rather unfriendly female dog, her owner commenting about the strange behavior. Later in Chapter 2 onwards, players have the opportunity to revisit the town now in shambles. There they would find a saddened Ponta, presumably mourning the loss of their young master. Interacting with the canine will grant players with a chain ability named Narrow Escape.
